Peer Assesment

We created a 2 column story board for our music video after we made a plan of the narrative. Below is the first page of the 2 column story board which shows our narrative at each stage of the song. It shows in detail what we are planning to have happening at each section of the song. We use the lyrics as indications as to where different pieces of the narrative start and stop. This is a good way of story boarding our plan for the music video as it allows us to go into detail and if we was to give it to our actor they would be able to know what is expected of them. This is a resource that could be used by many people in understanding what is going on in the music video, in the real music video industry this would be a useful document to create as it will inform anyone who reads it what is happening.
Once we had created our 2 column story board, we then gave it to another group who then peer assessed our work and fed back to us. They gave us their opinion with any criticism and improvements they thought would benefit our idea and storyboard. The feedback we received was:

In order to make the 2 Column story board more useful we was told to:
1) Describe the location we were planning to use as in the storyboard we said 'room' rather than being specific with the location
2) What kind of shots were going to be used for the opening shots, these were going to be close up shots but we didn't clearly state this in our storyboard.
They thought we had a good blend between the narrative and the performance, we appreciated this comment as we had taken time and constructed this in a way which will make it effective rather than switching from performance to narrative throughout.
Another suggestion was that we needed a slight improvement on the narrative. This comment is taken into consideration as we only gave them the first page of our 2 column story board which started from 00:00 up until 01:18. We explained that the building up of our narrative was continued on the other pages of the story board and they then were happy with the narrative.

    To improve:

    1. More of the same! Make sure all future blog posts are of this standard.
    2. Add a blog post (lots of your group need to consider this, actually, so have a chat to them about it) - "How has your research informed the ideas you have proposed?"
    3. Start doing the 'little extras' - with some analytical comments. Use last year's A-grade examples as a guide.
